A marvelous day at the Corinthia Hotel Budapest/Grand Hotel Royal

hey... I know I was supposed to write about it right away, but...OK I have no actual reasons to cover up my lazy ass for not writing this earlier, but if I want to be honest, it is part of the truth that I did spend an awful lot of time with editing the pictures. And when I say edit, I mean clicking on the auto-adjust button multiplied by the number of photos I took. So yeah , does not really explain why it took so long. Also have to tell you that most of my photos came out SHIT so I am also going to cheat and use other sources as well.(Or will I?) Te builidng itself is quite old. The original opening of the hotel dates back to the Millenium (1896) still under the name Grand Hotel Royal. It closed finally in 1991 (my birth year how sad) and waited to be bought by Corinthia in 1999. Luckily the renovation didn't take too long and in 2002 the hotel opened up again to the public under the new name, now belonging to the company Corinthia. Currently there are 440 rooms oppose...

Dear Blog, I have been neglecting you for a while, and I am so terribly sorry about it. However today I have this urge to write again. This time, I will try to leave all the crazy personal shit behind, because let us face it, last time I tried blogging about my personal life and feelings, it just did not come out right, and I sort of hurt people I deeply cared about. The reason I started to feel this way, that made me write again is, that I got my first real hotel job. Not just an intership, not a summer job at a small inn, or at the family business, but a real opportunity to work as a hotelier, earn some real money and motivate myself to finally finish school and start living a life I have always dreamed of. Sort of. The moment my phone rang with the offer/the callback from my supervisor during my internship/ I knew it was different. I have been living off the support my parents provided for 23 years, with occasionally working student jobs paying me almost nothing. I felt secure...
